Changing camera settings in The Boring Toolbox allows you to customize options such as Resolution, Codec, FPS, and Streaming Mode. This can help optimize performance and ensure the camera is configured according to your standards and assist with deploying XProtect Adaptive Streaming. Follow the provided steps to access and adjust these settings.
Steps to Change Camera Settings
- Navigate to Camera Settings:
- Once logged in, select the "Hardware" option from the navigation menu.
- Once logged in, select the "Hardware" option from the navigation menu.
- Select the Camera:
- On the Hardware page, expand the server and hardware to locate the camera(s) for which you want to change the settings.
- Select the hardware or camera. Repeat this step for as many hardware or cameras as you would like. You can bulk select by using SHIFT+Click.
- On the Hardware page, expand the server and hardware to locate the camera(s) for which you want to change the settings.
- Access Settings:
- After selecting the hardware or camera, the "Edit" button should appear in the floating menu.
- Click on the "Edit" button.
- Select the "Camera Settings" option.
- In the "Camera Settings" page, find the "Choose Settings" section with options for Codec, FPS, Resolution, and Streaming Mode.
- Adjust Settings:
- From the "Choose Video Stream" section, select the video stream for which you want to change settings.
- Modify the camera settings as needed. (e.g., select the “800x600” resolution)
- Apply the changes by clicking the "APPLY" button next to each setting.
- From the "Choose Video Stream" section, select the video stream for which you want to change settings.
- Verify Changes:
- Ensure the settings have been updated in the corresponding columns.
- Click on the "PREVIEW" button to review changes. Remember there is no undo button so it is always smart to double and triple check.
- Click on the "SAVE" button to finalize the changes. Once finalized all changes will be saved to Milestone XProtect and will also be reflected in the Management Client.
- Ensure the settings have been updated in the corresponding columns.
