If you recently added cameras to your license or renewed your BAM coverage, then you will need to update the license on the Boring Toolbox client and the managed sites for the new license to be applied.  Here is how.

Online Boring Toolbox license upgrade

• On the login screen, click the ? in the bottom left corner

• Click "Check License Status".  This will reach out to the Boring Lab licensing servers and update your license and BAM date (if applicable).

• In versions prior to v5.23.0905 this procedure will need to be performed on each install Boring Toolbox client.
• In version v 5.23.0905 and above, other clients connecting to the server can use the updated license without any additional intervention.

Offline Boring Toolbox license upgrade

If the computer on which you have the Boring Toolbox client installed is not connected to the internet, then you will need to perform an offline license update.

• On the login screen, click the ? in the bottom left corner

• Click "Deactivate License"

• Confirm you would like to deactivate the license

• Relaunch the Boring Toolbox client.  You will be asked to activate your client. 

• Select the "Offline License Activation" radio button
• Copy the computer ID
• Send an email with the computer ID (see below), full name, and licensee's email to support@theboringlab.com.
• The licensee will then receive an email back with the license key. Move the key over to the computer where the client needs activation.
• Return to the offline activation screen, enter the full name, email, and license key you just received, and press Activate License.

Update the license on Parent and Managed Sites

To update the license on a managed site, after you have updated your Boring Toolbox client license, simply log into The Boring Toolbox parent site.  The updated license will be pushed down to the parent and any managed sites currently connected during the login process.
