The Password Health feature in The Boring Toolbox allows users to monitor and evaluate the strength and security of passwords. This helps ensure that passwords meet security standards and are not vulnerable to breaches.
Steps to Check Password Health
- Log in to The Boring Toolbox
- Open your web browser and go to The Boring Toolbox login page.
- Enter your credentials and log in.
- Navigate to the Password View
- Once logged in, select the "Passwords" option from the navigation menu.
- Once logged in, select the "Passwords" option from the navigation menu.
- Access Password Health Section
- On the Password page, select the hardware you want to check password health.
- After selecting the hardware, find the "PW Health" button on the floating menu and click on it.
- The Password Health Check modal will be displayed with default options enabled.
- Set Scan Options
- Configure the options for the scan as needed.
- If needed, check the "Show password in result" checkbox to include passwords in the generated report.
- Click the "BEGIN SCAN" button.
- Take Action
- If any passwords are found to be weak or insecure, they will be displayed after the scan is complete.
- Use the Export option to download a detailed report on password health for further analysis if needed.
